My SO just started working near the KT Towne Center, and I have already put in my orders for various buffalo cuts from Cibola Farms this Friday. What other places and foodstuffs at the market should we (read: she) definitely check out? Any favorites out there?

  1. I'm a big fan of the Kingstowne market. My favorites are:
Crackpot Gourmet for jams and chutneys
Susie's Cookies-it's all good, but the Carmelitas are eye-rolling good.
Middleburg Creamery's ice cream is delightful if you can keep it cold on the way home. Or, enjoy a cup at the market.
    Allenberg Orchard-berries, cherries, peaches, tomatoes
Mt. Olympus Berry Farm-Amazing Berries....just check out these huge honkers atop my cheesecake!

Blue Ridge Dairy-anything of their's is very very good. Try the fresh mozzarella.
Cenan's Bakery-try the croisants, fresh baked breads and spreads.
All of the produce is fresh, amazing and priced well. Corn is in at C&T Farm and Green Lever Farm. It is amazing already.

      Thank you!

    2. I second the "Crackpot Gourmet". I haven't been yet this year, I'm really hoping they still do the strawberry jam with black pepper.

Yes, Kiss of Kerala. I have some and have been using it as is, and in sauces ie: port, kiss of kerala, stock, onions, garlic with pan juices. Reduce and enjoy over pork or lamb.
        Yum!
