Looking for something new & inventive

Does anyone have ANY suggestions for good AND inventive restaurants in the South Bay Area? I'm so tired of run of the mill / chain restaurants and an looking for anything new to temp my tastebuds.

Suggestions please! All ethnic groups welcome!!

On the upper end, "The Depot" in downtown Torrance has some nice dishes in a really great environment. I don;t know about "inventive", but they've got some nice original approaches to their dishes.
On the casual end, and damn good...

    Los Paisas
Really great, authentic Mexican food at Torrance Blvd. & Western. We lucked on to some incredible fresh rellenos a couple of times at lunch. Just ask! Also. they grill chicken from Thurs to Sun, well seasoned and usually cooked to perfection.

    Al Hamra
    On Artesia Blvd. in Redondo
EXCELLENT middle eastern all the way around! Super casual strip mall spot.

      Kotosh Kamiyana - Peruvian/Japanese (Sushi) - Torance
      http://www.kotoshkamiyama.com

Belacan Grill - Malaysian - Redondo Beach

Quality Seafood - Seafood - Redondo Beach Pier
      A large selection with the chance (?) to try something you've never had before at a reasonable price (it doesn't give off the Red Lobster Chain vibe...);

      .

Naja's Place - Beer Temple - Redondo Beach Pier
Go ONLY for their large Beer selection and skip the food!

And for something completely (?) different:

      Zina's - Czech - Torance
Maybe more of a nightclub then a good restaurant (I haven't been yet, so ?):

Try Musha in Torrance for Japanese "pub" style food. Pork belly, fried chicken, parmesean risotto, etc.

          Is this South Bay:
          Al-Watan
          13619 Inglewood Ave
          Hawthorne, CA 90250-5610
          Phone: (310) 644-6395 ???

Al Watan is delicious Pakistani food in a no frills setting. Everything is good here, so I usually just order the special.
