Persian restaurants london

  • 7

i tried Mohsens recently and thought it was really nice, cello kababs especially ( and mirsa ghasemi). I'd love to find more persian restaurants in london. Any ideas?

  1. A friend of mine recommends Sufi in Hammersmith.

They do chello kebabs and mirza ghasemi :)

    1. There is a small, delightful, family-run restaurant in Fairfield Road in Wandsworth called Mary's. Very good value and BYOB. The rice dishes are excellent, particularly one with dried orange peel and pomegranate sauce, also the starters (I'm not an expert so can't remember the names of dishes).
It's nt easy to get to by tube but is near Wandsworht Town station and not far from Clapham Junction.

        Dish Dash - Persian fare
        11-13 Bedford Hill
        Balham
        SW12 9ET

      2. Behest - Harrow Road (very authentic)
Pars - Harrow Road (fantastic koobideh)
        Alounak - Kensington
Galleria - Marylebone (a bit westernized though)

        1. The Mahdi near Ravenscourt Park is excellent and very reasonably priced.

          Mahdi Restaurant . 217 King Street, Hammersmith, London, W6 9JT - Tel: 0871 0757388.

          1. Patogh on Crawford Place off the Edgware Road is great! Charcoal grilled lamb and chicken served with a big mound of rice or a huge round of freshly baked flatbread.

            1. Haven't been there in a while, but we always liked Simurgh in the Covent Garden area (Garrick St., I think). Excellent chello kebab, other dishes. Nice rices -- three different pilafs served with many of the mains. It was always our fallback when looking for a place for dinner on Sunday, followed by the jazz night at the Lamb and Flag just down the street.
