River Vale - new to area - need recs

I just moved a few weeks ago from Englewood Cliffs to River Vale.

Looking for recommendations in River Vale, Westwood & other neighboring areas.

Here are a few I have been to:

Jacks Cafe - love it
Backwoods - love it
Iron Horse - good staple
Daniel - love it

Any other recs?

Also try Harvest in Closter - the food is quite good; Kazuki Sushi in River Vale is decent as well

I drove by a new place, Paulie's the other day on Schralenburgh Rd (thereabouts) near Norwood. The parking lot was packed. Any one give it a try yet?

Been there a few times, mostly for bar food and once for dinner. We thought it was good (2 1/2 stars). Bar food is adequate, good pizza. A place to stop in for a snack without being overly expensive.

Just heard about a Spanish Rest. in northvale..don't know the name,though i wonder if anyone's gone.

Taste of Spain is in Northvale on Tappan Rd. I haven't been there in MANY years. When I did go I found it not to be as good as those good places in Newark, but they had a very similar menu. I'm not even sure if it is still open. For this type of food, w/o travelling to Newark the best I found has been at Segovia, in Moonachie.

Segovia is fabulous however there is always a huge wait. If you can handle the wait it it worth it.
El Cid in Paramus is pretty good and closer option to Rivervale but Segovia is better if you want to take the extra 10 minute drive.

Taste of Spain is actually still open. I don't live that far from it but have not been there. I am hoping to try it out soon.

Well, we've been to Daniel several times and every experience has been different. The first time was great. We all enjoyed appetizers/salads and each of us had a different fish entree. One of the diners is probably the most critical eater of all time, and even she said it was fabulous. The next few times got a little less exciting and a little more common. It's been kind of hit or miss. If you're there on a "hit" night, you'll be happy. Again, first time service was great, the next few times, not even close. I would give it one more try.

For a nice Italian Dinner try Valentino's in Park Ridge. The food is very good and the staff is always on point.
Another good place is Bacari Grill in Washington Township.

Esty Street - Park Ridge, NJ
Park Steakhouse - Park Ridge, NJ
Mediterraneo - Ridgewood, NJ
A Mano - Ridgewood, NJ (authentic Naples-style pizza)
Silver Oak - Ridgewood, NJ (but haven't been since Chef Gary went "on hiatus")

My favorite place is the Greek Village in Northvale. It's close to River Vale. BYOB, It's pretty small, if you don't go early you may have a short wait. It's greek homestyle cooking. Also - here's a thread you might find helpful.

The Greek Village is Very Good and this coming from a Greek person who has spent many summers eatting her way through Greece.
The food is tasty and consistant and the prices are very reasonable however the small space usually leads to long wait times.
