  1. not a nice restaurant, per se, but if you can catch Urth Cafe on a day that they are offering their mushroom soup your discerning taste buds will be happy.

how could one flame that? that soup is deliscious

      2. Some of the best Mushroom soup I've had recently was at the employee cafeteria in the Gas Tower building downtown. I think it was on 5th and Olive. It is open to the public. It has large pieces of serveral kinds of mushrooms. They usually serve it once a week.

        1. if you'll be near santa monica, try i Cugini on Ocean.

close to cedars-sinai, there's angeli caffe, but they don't always have it.

if you're interested in maitake mushroom soup, in the valley, try Asanebo.

in north hollywood (the valley), Chiba sushi makes a nice white miso and mushroom soup.

also in the valley, Roy's has a ginger mushroom soup.

if you make it to hollywood, try Melograno or Girasole on Larchmont.

          1. Mine is @ La Vie en Rose in Brea; they serve theirs w/a puff pastry top.

            1. I haven't been there in a while but Out Take in Studio City occasionally serves a mushroom soup that is truly good, though I kinda doubt it would be on their menu during the summer months.

              1. My wife swears by Brent's Mushroom Barley soup, with lots of rye heels!
