Looking for a Frozen Drink with Banana

We were recently on vacation in Cancun and my favorite drink was called a Frozen Monkey. It had banana and rum (i think). I love bananas so anything that has banana in it would be great. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

  1. Jspear, where are you?!?!?

In my (disliker of frozen drinks) opinion, if you're going frozen, you can almost do whatever you want. Just throw some rum, something sweet (vanilla ice cream?) and banana and you're probably going to enjoy it. You could add some Bailey's, Frangelico, Amaretto, Starbck's, etc. for variation.

I had Van Gogh pineapple vodka recently. That could be fun with banana.

    1. You can do anything you like with frozen bananas. When the banana is ripe (has brown freckles) peel and freeze in plastic bag. Then the blender becomes your magic carpet to banana heaven. Rum comes to mind first. You can add any liqueur for fruit, nut or spice. If you like Amaretto, Chambord, Banana, Creme de Cacao, fresh fruit Pineapple Strawberry Raspberry Watermelon. Coco Lopez, Grenadine. Enjoy

      1. There's a place in Key West, I can't remember the name of the bar, but it served nothing but frozen slushy's. It had about 50 or so slushy turners on the wall. It was a favorite beginning place for the night. Anyway here's a recipe for a frozen daiquiri.

        1 1/2 oz light rum
        1 tbsp triple sec
        1 banana
        1 1/2 oz lime juice
        1 tsp sugar
        1 cherry

Combine all ingredients (except for the cherry) with 1 cup crushed ice in an electric blender. Blend at a low speed for five seconds, then blend at a high speed until firm. Pour contents into a champagne flute, top with the cherry, and serve.

        1. Tommy Bahama Restaurant in Naples, FL has a Bailey's Banana Colada that is OMG good.

Bailey's & Emmet's Irish Cream, fresh banana, cream of coconut blended with ice.
