FYI, we ate at Blue Hill Stone Barns last night and my wife preferred the NYC meal.
We've never seen a full bar in the Village location. Seems like an easy way to get a great meal.

I have eaten without a reservation at the bar, and service and food is great as usual. If i were you, I would probably go a little earlier or later than prime dinner time as I was again at the restaurant at 9 with reservations, but the bar looked pretty full to me at that time.

Did you dine by yourself or with others? Not sure how the space is laid out. Thanks for the info so far.

Ate at the bar last week. It was quite entertaining - talked to several out of towners. The bartender was great, and so was the food. I particularly recommend the green gazpacho. The bar seats people on two sides, about 8 or 9 seats in all.

loved the bar at Bluehill...went solo a couple months ago and had a terrific conversation with my next to stool neighbors and the waiter kept topping off my wine gratis...stellar solo dining experience
