  1. This is awesome. I used to not care which a place served until I took up a Diet Coke addiction...and Diet Pepsi just doesn't cut it for me now. It's a big pet peeve when I go somewhere, order a Diet Coke, and am served a Diet Pepsi (I have a friend who works at a restaurant where they serve Pepsi, and her manager instructed all servers NOT to ask "is pepsi ok?" because he knew they'd make less sales), This map comes in handy when visiting Vegas!

    1. Cool site, thanks Dave.

      1. Why is this useful information? Am I missing something?

It's because some people are VERY preferential with their brands. I've found that diet soda drinkers are more adamant about their preference than regular drinkers. The other main contingent are fans of Dr Pepper; they'll frequent places that serve Pepsi, since coke usually carries Mr. Pibb.

Useful? If you drink either and have a strong preference, it's worth it. I also think it's a highly Chowish endeavor to compile the info.

Here is some useful information on this subject:

Soft drinks have lots of sugar? In further news, water is wet, and Pope is indeed Catholic; film at 11. When was the last time CSPI released something that wasn't painfully obvious?

            2. I'm a little shocked that so many of you wonder why I posted this (or more importantly, why someone would compile such a map). From the Chowhound Manifesto:

"Chowhounds know where the good stuff is, and they never settle for less than optimal deliciousness, whether dining in splendor or grabbing a quick slice."

I've given several tasting parties, where the participants were asked to do blind tastings of many foods, and drinks as well (beer, wine, and sodas). Interestingly, more people could identify the difference between colas than beers or wine. At one time, virtually every hotel in LV carried Pepsi products; times have changed.

              1. DH is VERY picky with his diet coke! He drinks wine at dinner but otherwise he drinks diet coke. The map is in my Vegas file for next week. Thanks!
