Vincenco's Pizza to Go Opening-Sherman Oaks?

Hypnotic23 Jul 5, 2008 06:24 PM

Just got back from dinner, I'm probably saying the name of this spot wrong.

Has anybody else driven by this place thats being built a block or 2 past Woodman on Ventura Blvd.

Any feedback on this would be great.

Thank you,

    Stuart -
Are you referring to the place on the corner of Woodman that was formerly Orange Delite, and now will become Vitello's Express, a faster food version of the Robert Blake Vitello's on Tujunga?
Or are you referring to the place across from Stanley's, on the corner of Matilija, south side of the street, that is being remodeled, and one of the units will become another pizza/pasta place - maybe Vincenzo's, I have not heard any name attached to it.
Or the former Ventura Club two blocks west of it where Poquito Mas is readying to open in the next few weeks?
Just asking. I live in a very changing neighborhood.
And of course the Fondue place adjacent to and west of Max will become Stone Fire Pizza - not pizzaed out yet are you?

Carter, everything you said is correct, guess I just have Vincenzo's on my mind is all, I do recall the new sign thats up is Vitello's, all these new pizza spots and we still dont have a good one, my favorite is still Pagiano's on Coldwater & Moorpark.

      Thank you,

For pizza in that area? Try Joe Peep's. Magnolia and Whitsett. The place itself is a hellhole but it's all takeout. Fabulous pizza and truly impressive mushrooms. Ample pepperoni.

Joe Peep's is shite! The pizza is crap...

I've never trusted Pagliacci's because there's so little traffic in that place I think the pizza must sit forever. Unless they do an enormous amount of takeout.

Pizza pickin's are pretty slim in the vicinity, but I've always been happy with Angeleno's Pizza Express on Moorpark/Lankershim. An unassuming little place staffed by very nice people.

And Carter, thanks for the updates. Is the fondue place closed yet? And I can't think of much we'd need less than a Vitello's Express.

Not sure when fondue will close, yet Greg Morris the buyer and operator of Stone Fire has been spending a fair amount of time there lately.
As to potentially 3 more pizza places nearby, ugh, at least from my non-pizza eating perspective.

Wow! If I want fondue, I'd better go soon!

Don't know if it's related, but there's a Vincenzo's Pizza in Chatsworth at Mason and Devonshire that is very good. If you're getting one in Sherman Oaks, definitely try it once it opens.
