Good italian in Phoenix/south scottsdale area?

  • 5

Does anyone know of any good italian places in this area? I would also love to find a good italian bakery with cannolis and the like.

  1. restaurants:

Aiello's -- good Sicilian / southern Italian near Central & Camelback
Marcellino -- upscale Italian in North Central Phoenix (may be closed for summer vacation; call first)
La Fontanella -- Arcadia neighborhood on east side of Phoenix
    Daniel's -- same as above

    bakeries / delis:

    Niccoli's -- North Central Phoenix
    Calabria -- Downtown Phoenix
Andreoli -- mid-Scottsdale (may be too authentic for cannoli but has many other delicious treats)

DeFalco's definitely has a cannoli, although I have to say, since my first cannoli was at Mike's Pastry (say what you will about Modern, it's Mike's for me), I wasn't so enthused. Slice of Sicily also has one. Andreoli has a variety of pastries, and the ones I've had I loved.

Mike's for cannoli, Modern for lobstah tails. ;-)

I can vouch for Andreoli's cannoli. They are good.
