Where do you go for a great salad?
Which restaurants have terrific salads in the Columbia, MD and surrounding areas? I'm running out of ideas aside from The Cheesecake Factory and Mimi's Cafe and when the weather is hot a nice cool salad hits the spot. Even better if they have a good French Onion Soup too. Help!
Try Eggspectation- they have amazing EVERYTHING. I go to the one in Chantilly but they have locations in Silver Spring and Elliot City MD as well- are either of those near Columbia? I don't know MD well...
Their Chicken and Avacado salad is superb- add toasted almonds and you will be in heaven. The Eggspectation Salad is unreal- get rid of the lettuce and it would make a GREAT sandwich! lol
I second the salads at Eggspectation. http://www.eggspectations.com/html/ho...
I go to the one in Silver Spring Town Center and they have outdoor seating. I love their Chicken and Avocado Salad, which also comes with sauteed spinach on top. They also have a great selection of fruit shakes, and if you like a kick they'll add rum to it. Great selection of wine and their caffe Moka Nero is excellent.
Also, in the same location is Adega Wine Cellars and Cafe
My favorite is their Adega Mixed Greens Salad - it has amazing caramelized pears and pecans, and I add beef and goat cheese to mine. They have outside seating here too. We like to go on the weekends where after 4 you get an appetizer, 2 entrees, and a bottle of wine for 35. If you want to take the remaining wine with you they'll re-cork it for you too.
We had some nice salads (and meals) at Rocket to Venus. I had a great beet salid with tangerines in it (there were a few different types and they all looked good). I'm not sure if you're willing to drive that far (they're located in Hampden) but their food is good and the prices are reasonable. It has kind of a trendy/artsy vibe.
If you want to drive to Little Italy...I had one of the best salads I've ever had yesterday at Chiapparellis...it was garlicky, cheesy, and large, and they give you a whole small loaf of bread...the whole thing costs about $5.50!
