Open Air Asian Summer Night Market in GTA?

Like the one they have in Richmond (of Vancouver). You know, the kind of place where I can gorge on dim sum at 11pm, have eight different vendors for takoyaki, even more offering bubble tea, and an equal number splitting open young coconuts. I want airy ie. good egg bubble waffles, freshly-made taiyaki, the such. Fake DVDs, Hello Kitty paraphernilia and knock-off Louis Vuitton purses optional, but often come standard with the whole package.

Anything? Even in Markham?

  1. I know absolutely nothing about this, or if it's any good - but here you go:

    Toronto Night Market

    Discussed a bit here:

    1. Yeah, next weekend. Wait 'til you see the lineup for the stinky tofu.

      1. Looks good, never been to the event, but correct me if I'm wrong, this open market seem to me that it is Asian based, and it looks to me like non Asian vendors cant join in.It would be wonderful is there was some sort of multicultural night market where you can get all your favorite street foods from all around the world.
Now that Chowhounders would be sweet!!!! ^_^

        1. Apparently, there is a night market happening in Woodbine Park every Saturday night in July and August. Or at least that's what I've seen listed on several event/festival listing websites - the caveat being that the event's own website ( has nothing but a single Flash page that says "Summer 2008", so it's possible that it's not happening after all, since you'd expect more info posted for something that is supposedly starting this weekend.

If anyone decides to check it out and finds that it's actually happening, please post a review so those of us who live in the other end of town know if it's worth the trip. ;)
