Afternoon Tea in Edmonton area.

josephml1 Jul 4, 2008 07:15 PM

I am looking for an original English afternoon tea in Edmonton area... Looking for one with Canapes, desserts, scones with clotted cream and of course a good tea.
It could be from a small place with good afternoon tea.
Please if you can include price range and what they offer.

Thank you all.

Although I have not been there yet, I read recently that http://www.strathconateahouse.com/men... is rated as the #2 teahouse in Canada (after Victoria). Do not know whether that is true. Has anyone had any experience there? I am curious, too...

The menu loks a little simplistic.

Therer are two places I have had good high teas - the Hotel Macdonald and Rutherford House on the U of a campus. I was sad to learn that it seems that the Mac has turned the tea into a tea and tour options only. see the the link below

The afternoon tea at Rutherford House is much more reasonably priced. But be warned it is not air conditioned and can get warm.

I had reservations to the The Arbour Restaurant at the Rutherford House (University) that I had to cancel but, gave to a good friend instead. She's been back twice and LOVES the tea there.

I don't know of any place in particular, but you could try the Hotel MacDonald. I think that might be your best bet.
