Maybe November I want to say. It was nothing memorable.

Our only experience under this ownership was shortly after they bought it from Joe & Maggie. It was lunch, the menu was as it had been before, and we didn't know at that point that the restaurant had been sold. Mr. R. ordered the meatloaf and I, a composed lunch salad. I'm pretty sure I've told this story before on this board, but here goes...

We asked our waitress for some bread to assuage our hunger until the food arrived. She went off and came back to inform us there was no regular bread, but there was pita. Though not exactly what we had in mind, we told her to bring some. She returned carrying a small basket in which lay exactly two very small pita triangles. No spread or dipping sauce. And that was it! As the Queen might have said, we were not amused.

That incident left such a bad impression with regard to the new ownerhip that we never felt inclined to try the restaurant when it became Cask 591.

Thanks for the update bgut. Oddly enough we were driving past it yesterday and sort of wondered if there were any recent reports on the place. I guess yours is the recent report. I do remember RGRs pita triangle story, which gave me a giggle at the time.

          Too bad.

I heard that Dennis, owner of Cask, was opening a restaurant with the owners of Sirena. In Asbury Park, but I am not entirely certain, it could just be a rumor, but we will see soon enough.
