Had 2 good meals so far for dinner. Zuma and Aqua. The view from Aqua is amazing. We had so many dishes there and all were really good. The champagne and rose sorbet at the end of dinner was perfect as well. Zuma had a great ambiance but I believe the food of that sushi caliber is reserved for Nobu.
i have to agree that SEVVA is the talk of the town at the moment. the food is good, the deck is unbelievable, but imo they're a bit head of themselves with the service and the price point. servers who don't even know their menu: "er... that is er... let me ask the kitchen for you" as an answer to "what would you recommend other than cake for dessert" is not an answer i expect from a restaurant of this (supposed) calibre, where i'm paying more than $200 for a bowl of noodles (i can cab it to mak's, have about five bowls and cab back for that price)
but do go for drinks. that deck is great - the sloppy service won't be so obvious after a few drinks
also very 'now' is the pawn in a brilliant heritage building in wanchai - food is surprisingly very good, given that it's opened by the guys who own press room and press room kinda sucks. if you aren't able to make a reservation at the restaurant upstairs, the pub (lower level) does a mean fish and chips and the scotch egg is great.
