A lot of people like Aunt Butchies on 13th Ave, but they are not always fresh tasting. I am especially fond of the American style cream cheese cheesecake from Angelo's on 86th St and 25th Ave. They are available with or without fruit topping (The strawberry is a classic) It has made me a very popular guest. :-} While you are there, you may want to treat yourself to one of their "Lobster Tails" filled with french cream. They are beyond delicious.!
It's a great neighborhood bakery. While you're so close, you might want to grab a slice at L&B

You really can not go wrong with ANYTHING you find at Villabate/Alba'a (2 amazing bakeries a block away from each other on 18th Ave recently merged). You may want to try an Italian cheesecake, made with ricotta cheese instead of cream cheese. theirs is fantastic. I believe there is a website but I recall they are located at about 68th and 18th. Get a Genovese for yourself while you're at it.

I agree that their Italian style cheesecake is delicious.I find a lot of their other cakes/cookies/pasteries too sweet for my taste, but that's just a personal preference. Their baked goods are always fresh

I second Villabate.
Also, Leske's, a Norwegian bakery on 5th Ave and about 76th st makes an excellent cheesecake.
