Need Apple Wood Chunks!

a_w_taylor Jul 2, 2008 01:27 PM

I am firing up the smoker for the 4th and wanted to get some apple wood chunks - anyone know where in Ffld Cnty I might be able to find some? Or at least a lot of apple wood chips if that is all that is available? Or if you have access to any really crazy wood - peach would be nice to try!

Cheers

You can get them at BBQ Galore in Norwalk. And you can also get a bunch of others too - pecan, peach, etc.

Most of the fruit woods smell mostly the same to me.

The other alternative is to go to any of the apple farms around too. They always have wood lying around.

I cut limbs off my apple tree. Just smoked a duck. Fantastic!
Look for an apple tree. Sneak onto their property in the dead of night with your chainsaw ....
Why don't you find an apple grower, as suggested?

I've bought them at Nordic Fireplace, in Stamford. If you head south from City Limits Diner until the road "T"s, its right on the left.
