I like Xunta (1st ave around 11th) because its usually really laid back, Salt bar on Clinton is nice too, but can get too crowded on weekends (what doesn't, but still...)

I really love 1492, on clinton street between stanton and Rivington.
There's a beautiful outdoor garden, and the the food and vibe is great.

Alta is great for Italian tapas. If you are willing to go downtown, Stanton Social is a fun spot and Las Ramblas in WV has great Spanish tapas but the restaurant is very small.

Alta isn't Italian, it's somewhat Spainish,somewhat Global. I highly recomend it.
