Restaurants in the Woodstock, Lincoln NH area

Any recommendations for good dinner in Woodstock, Lincoln area? Years ago we loved Truant's Taverne, but the quality of the food and the service has nosedived in the last 5 years. It's too bad, it was such a nice place. Also loved Govoni's, but it wasn't opened last year. Does anyone know if it's re-opening again? Such a nice space, good food. I wish these places could have stayed good.

  1. I have always had good luck and decent food at the Woodstock Station, and very good food at the Common Man.

Thanks! I did try to Common Man for the first time last year and was pleasantly surprised. In fact we ate there 3 nites in a row, since our other usual haunts have disappointed.

    2. Try Bailiwick's Fine Restaurant in the Thayer's Inn in Littleton Nh. It's about 45 minutes from Lincoln. Great atmosphere, food and wide selection of martinis.

Tried to make a reservation for Friday night at Bailiwick's. Called at 4:30 pm and was told by voicemail that the restaurant doesn't open until 5:00. I was instructed to leave my information on when I wanted to make a reservation and they would call me back. At 5:45 I called and was told I didn't call! To prove their point, they played back for me all the messages. I'm not an electrical engineer and can't explain why my message wasn't received. On four separate instances during the phone conversation I asked if they can accomodate me that evening. . The man on the other end insisted on proving his point. In the end, while there was no problem seating us, we chose to eat elsewhere. If they couldn't handle a simple task as taking a reservation, their service couldn't be much better. We wound up at a seafood restaurat in Bethlehem, NH called Angelica''s. Food was good but service was so-so. It wasn't that they didn't try, it just seemed to me they were way understaffed.
