Sports bar that takes res?

The perfect spot would have been Blue Seats on the LES, but they are closed for remodeling in mid July.

I'd like to find a sports bar that serves food where I can reserve space for a small group (8 or fewer people) for a birthday surprise get together. It will be a mid July Friday night around 10:30 or 11 for a couple of hours. Very meat and potatoes crowd, Midtown west/theater district or EV/LES preferred. Booth or table preferred. I don't have a problem with putting down a deposit.

TIA for any help!

  1. ESPN ZONE sounds like an obvious choice. Also the Village Pourhouse on 3rd avenue and 11th st. Both arent really noted for their cuisine. For better food and if your guests are all men or quite openminded, what abour Robert's Steakhouse in the Penthouse Club. Never been there but the Times gave it a rather interesting review not too long ago.

    1. 40/40 Club ; nice place..get your own booth with your own tv.

      1. Try Opia on 57th st and Lex . It's a lounge. They do a lot of sport event (soccer, rugby, ..). You can make a reservation.

        1. not your neighborhood choice, but THE RIVIERA in the village would take a res.

          1. Wow. Thanks everyone! These are all really good suggestions. I actually wound up going with the Mean Fiddler as I was informed that there really isn't much in the way of sports on at that time, and it is the perfect location for me. Bonus is the kitchen is closed for remodeling so I can bring in my own food! (Saves on the $$$)

But I will definitely wind up trying these places.
