Gallo Giro advertises a Torta Cubano..

Cute website anyways. There's one in central LB but I usually go to the one in South Gate.

it's a good cubano, but a mexicano cubano, not a purist's cubano cubano. but a half of one of those and a guanabana licuado and i'm pretty happy for a long time.

I can't think of a Cuban restaurant any where near LB.

              Tropicana Bakery & Cuban Cafe
              10218 Paramount Blvd, Downey.

I have only had their pastries, both cakes and some savory empanadas (actually not sure what they are called). I've heard that the other food is good too.

Not in Long Beach but a short ride on the 4 zero five and a very good Cuban sandwich can be had! In Huntington Beach on Edinger and Goldenwest at an Italian deli if you can imagine....and truth be told their other sandwiches are just meh...it is called Di Simones and is in the shopping center with Smart and Final. I think they even make their own bread and they get really busy around lunch time but man is that Cuban delicious.
