Old School Red Sauce Italian in Queens?

  • 5

A buddy and I will be in Queens for 1 day in July and we want to recreate the kind of Italian meal we had as kids in the sixties and seventies. Is there a place in Queens that would foot the bill? Any neighborhood would be fine, and thanks in advance!

  1. Parkside in Corona would be perfect. There's been lots of discussion in the past -

manducatis is terrific -- and for a slightly less upscale similar place nearby, i like manetta's. the latter is a lot more old-school, but manducatis is hard to resist

      2. You might want to consider the following two restaurants:
        1) Aunt Bella's which is on Marathon Parkway off Northern Boulevard in Little Neck
        2) The Clinton, which is in Whitestone on Clintonville and 10th Avenue.

Both serve simple and classic Italian-American dishes. I prefer Aunt Bellas!

        1. stellas in floral park, place hasnt changed in decades...same flowers..lolol
