Outdoor spot on UWS between Columbus Circle and 86th St.
Any recommendations for casual spots fitting this description (other than Boat Basin, of course)? Open to any cuisine, especially Japanese or Thai. Many thanks.

there is the Pier I Cafe on the Hudson @ 70th St. It is very informal but lovely. Sort of a grown up boat basin. You can sit outside at Fred's which is casual American. Haru has outdoor seating as well. Most of the spots on Amsterdam & Columbus have outside seating when the weather is nice.

There is a Haru on Amsterdam (between 80th - 81st) with a nice outdoor area.

Isabella's on columbus and 77th is a enjoyable place for an outdoor lunch.

Bar Boulad, and the others next to it, have outdoor space (not sure that it/they could be fairly described as "casual" though.
