Butcher open on Canada Day

bigheid Jun 30, 2008 09:56 PM

Hello Chowhounds.

Anyone know of a butcher open in the east-end Tuesday (Canada Day). We are talking about a last minute BBQ and I would like some quality meat.

Cheers in Advance

      Grace Meats, Royal Beef.
I was trying to buy steaks yesterday and both were closed but had signs they were open today.

Canada Day is one of the days Cheese Boutique is not open.
        From their site:
        "Open 360 Days a Year
Closed New Years Day Easter Sunday Canada Day Christmas Day Boxing Day"

Bruno's and Puseteri's on Ave. road north of Lawrence are both open. They get crowded and are not cheap but are both excellent quality, especially Bruno's burgers.

I think (can't guarantee) that Pusateri's do burgers on a que as a thank you to customers today.

Summerhill Market is open 364 days a year. And they have an excellent meat counter with the best meats you can buy.

Rowe Farms at Queen & Logan is open. Serviceable, but not great, meat.

Thanks to all for the Canada Day suggestions. We went with Royal Beef and were quite happy. The tri-tip steaks and lamb sausages were a big hit.
