Outdoor dining w/2 yr old near 4/5/6 subway lines?

Hi,

I'm looking for an outdoor restaurant for an early dinner. I'm dining with a friend who has a 2 year old. She wants a place that's outside so her child won't go crazy. It also has to be near the 4/5/6 subway lines. I'm desperate enough to consider South St. Seaport. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Check out the Angelo's Pizza thread. They have a second place on 2nd Ave. and 55th St. with an outdoor seating area. It's kid friendly.

Doesn't Blue Water Grill have a kid's menu?

We had dinner Friday night at Vermicelli - 2nd & 78th - Vietnamese - pretty good food, can't vouch for how authentic it is though. There is outdoor seating and there were children there.

Cafe d'Alsace - 2nd & 89th also has outdoor seating and very good French/Alsatian food.

Or maybe Chat n Chew right off Union Square.

Re: Cafe d'Alsace. Slight street correction. It's on the corner of 88th. Agree about the food being very good.

If you both like Indian-style cuisine, Tabla's Bread Bar has a lovely outdoor terrace direclty across from Madison Square Park, on the corner of Madison & 25th.

Of course, if the line isn't ridiculously long, you could do Shake Shack right in Madison Square Park.
