Mexican in Mamaroneck

Has anyone tried one of the smaller mexican restaurants in Mamaroneck? I've always been curious about the places that look like a dive. I do not know their names but the places i am referring to are 1) Think it's called the Country Store. Located on Mamaroneck Ave. You wouldn't know they serve Mexican food unless you went inside. 2) A place on Harrison Ave approximately .5 mile from the mamaroneck train station. Also a nondescript building. 3) There is a Mexican "Deli" on Mamaroneck Ave near the Post Road. These are places that are frequented by "Locals". I'm certain one of them must have really good Mexican Food. No need to mention to Three Jalapenos or Guasano Loco (Sp?).

  1. I don't know/can't recommend any family places in Mamaroneck but can recommend two places in New Rochelle -which are local favorites -and favorities for my wife and myself. Both are on Main Street in New Rochelle. The first is the Mexican Corner Cafe, a block or so South of North Avenue. The second is the Little Mexican Restaurant, about a block or so South of Divion Street. Both are on the West side of the block and both, as I said, are on Main Street. You can't go wrong with either one of these.
