Sunday Brunch Buffet at Ruben's w/Belly Dancers

Today was sunny, bright and warm with a light breeze. The roof terrace at Ruben's was very comfortable due to the wind shields.

The food was, as usual, outstanding. Made-to-order omelettes, pancakes and waffles. Also offered was prime rib, bacon and sausage, ceviche, chicken breasts, machaca, chiles rellenos. two different kinds of chilaquiles (red & greeb), rice and beans. There was menudo and pozole soup, as well as a prepared-to-order tostada/sope station.

Desserts are mDEin-house, today's selection included banana cake, chocolate cake, cheese cake and flan.

Champagne and Mimosas are included and the the price is about U.S.$12.95.

Oh! Did I forget to mention the live entertainment? Yes, we were entertained by a very lively belly dance troupe.

How were the chilaquiles? And was the machaca real deal dried beef from sonora - with egg or in sauce?

Sorry, no pictiures, I was sitting on the farthest end of the patio and did not have a camera/ I promise to plan to take pictures next Sunday..

This is a local group of young kids performing to raise money to travel to competitions. I would guess that the average age is fourteen and they are adorable.

The machaca is dry, with egg and no sauce. To my unedereducated palate, it tastes very good.

By the way, did I mention that all of the food is very good?
