Sunday Brunch-- Chic and Delicious?

kathryn7673 Jun 29, 2008 10:53 AM

Looking for a place to go with the girls, somewhere that looks as pretty as it tastes. My friend is in to the "scene" I am not soo much, but it's not my b-day... so is is too much to ask to expect that a place with the hollywood scene also be gastronimically delicious? Any suggestions welcome... price not so much an issue.

Thanks chow hounders!!!

You don't mention your area, but if you're on the Westside, check out Anisette on Santa Monica & 3rd st promenade. You can read several posts & reviews about it on this site already. We went for their very first brunch, and even with the kinks, we'd definitely go back.

we are open to anywhere, but yes I am on the westside and prefer not to venture too far east, but again, it's not about me THIS time... so I will go with the flow. Thanks so far!

Agree w/ Anisette, and I think Rustic Canyon does a nice brunch as well.

A scene-y Hollywoody brunch if you like grilled veggie salads, crab cakes, and apple tarte tatin is THE IVY. Yes, it is pricey, but that's obviously not the issue here. And if you stick to the few great things it really is a tasty brunch.

        Anisette. Beautiful and delicious.

Another idea is Whist at Viceroy, outside. Great brunch.

Also another one of my faves of the moment!! You can always do One Pico at Shutters, on the beach.

Comme Ca does a good brunch.

          I ordered:

-OJ, good, fresh-squeezed, in a carafe
          -Cappuccino, great, Intelligensia
-Pain Perdu, great, custardy, crusty, not too sweet
-Quiche, rich, almost perfect; the salad that came with it was too salty
          -Eggs Benedict, classic, well-done

The service was good and the room is really nice. Location is chic, food is delicious, there may be a scene earlier, but I went in the late afternoon and they were less than full.
