Ice Cream Station of Milltown has great ice cream and excellent ice's. best of all is the price and the serving size. Beats all in Middlesex county.
Unfortunately they are not open during the winter and I haven't been there yet this year, but will be there this weekend.

i love Red's Frozen Custard on 10th Ave in Belmar. I was last there in October, and the flavors of the day were Apple Pie, Pumkin, and a killer Maple Walnut. The Vanilla was also the best I've had in a long time.

Best ice cream is at Day's in Ocean Grove. I agree with poster who said Lighthouse in Long Branch has best ices. But we only go off season. Long lines full of rude people are just not our thing.

There is a new place that opened on Ocean Ave in Sea Bright. It's called "Gracie and the Dudes." Bogo's is out of business, by the way. This new place makes homemade ice cream and Italian Ices, touting them as all natural. They are out of this world

ejdb - you are right, Day's in Ocean Grove has the best icecream you can obtain in New Jersey. This product is made in San Francisco and called "Double Rainbow." It is very hard to find and only a very limited number of places carry it. My favorite flavor is the ultra chocolate - delicious.

Bogo's at the Eastpoint Shopping Center off Rt 36 between Atlantic Highlands and Highlands.

Amazing flavors! All hand mixed at the shop. I love the Coconut Fudge Swirl!!

Village Creamery 560 Lakehurst Road in Toms River - They get my vote for the most AMAZING homemade ice cream. Don't forget your cooler if you are driving it back home!

I love the Beach Plum in Bradley Beach or Swal Dairy in Allentown, NJ all the way on the other side of Monmouth County.

Havent been there for years but Hoffman's in Point Pleasant was a wonderful place. My Favorites were Peanut Butter Honeycomb and Caramel Cashew.

Tried stopping at Hoffman's for ice cream today but it was closed. Guess they are closed off season. The website did not have any information about hours.

seems they are intermittently open... have driven by with people there and other times doors are closed... should be full-time soon

Point Pleasant open full time now 11-9 everyday. Just had a taste of the peanut butter Nugget and Caramel Nut Cluster - my first time tasting Hoffman's ice cream - both very good! Thanks.

Tried Swal Dairy Allentown NJ on my way home.

Jumping Giraffe Ice Cream was very good - Cake Batter ice cream with caramel truffles and caramel swirl.

                        Thanks!

For soft ice cream and Italian ice I agree Strollo's can't be beat...I prefer the orginal in Long Branch....for hard ice cream the Beach Plum in Bradley Beach has great home-made flavors. The Black Rasberry is to die for!

Still have to give it to Freehold's Jersey Freeze soft serve. The strongest contender and worth the trip.

Ist Jersey Freeze still open? I know it's been sold, but haven't been by lately to see if it's still there.

What you had was Thomas Sweets icecream which opened in New Brunswick many years ago and still is excellent quality.

Yes, isn't it delish!! The only other place that I know of at the Shore that has Thomas Sweets is Crazee's in Rumsom. But, The Blarney Cone in Spring Lake is much more convenient for me.

I always thought that Thomas Sweet's ice cream was good, although not extraordinary. Then, a couple of years ago, at their New Brunswick location, I bought some Butter Pecan ice cream to bring home, and after I got home, I realized that the Pecans in the ice cream were RANCID. That was my last time as a Thomas Sweet customer. If you are interested in making a quality product, you will verify that the ingredients are fresh prior to using them, IMHO.
