I want to have my 18th birthday party at a nice restruant thats not expensive. I have no idea where to go I live in Sacramento, CA so it would have to be somewhere rather close to where I live. Like Downtown or something. Does anyone have any ideas of where I can have it?? Please help me I want to have a great birthday!

Passed your post because it didn't say in the TITLE what city and this board covers much of California, but 18TH BIRTHDAY sounds fun, so I looked in.

I'd like to respond, but "nice" and "not expensive" are simple descriptions.

    (1) Do you want upscale food Continental Cuisine like The Firehouse without the price ?
    (2) Are you looking for a banquet menu and private room? How many in your party?
    (3) What about a "sharing" kind of menus like tapas (small portion plates) or fondue?
    (4) Do you like ethnic foods? Spicy? Any favorites?

Maybe you'd like Tapa The World on Sacramento Street?
    See, http://www.tapatheworld.com/

Here is one thread here on Chowhound that has two good suggestions: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/308882

I will admit, I am not an expert of dining in the Sacramento area and hope you get some great responses.

What about answering some of your questions by looking at http://sacramento.diningguide.com/ scrolling down into "Downtown" and etc.
    AND THEN
ask here on Chowhound about one particular restaurant or something that is like the one you seem to like?

    Happy Birthday.

Along w/kc girl's request for more info, can I also ask how many people are going to be in your party? And what kind of atmosphere? Fun, rowdy, quiet?? There are lots of recommendations I could make but would like to be more specific based on your needs.
