Michel's Unique Chocolates - Hollywood
Across the street from the coffee shop I study at, there is this weird little chocolate store that I had always wondered about. Today I noticed that the sign said open so I finally walked in.
Talked to the owner who bought the shop 10 months ago. He used to supply the former owner with chocolate but apparently there were management issues so the chocolate was not stored properly. He said he makes the chocolates himself in the store every day.
I was surprised at how good these chocolates were. I will go back to take pics because they were quite well done. Also, I bought 5 chocolates here for $3.80 (total!) and while they were a bit soft since it was late in the day, I was impressed at the price, the weird location, and the flavors I got.
I got a piece filled with fig jam, another with cherry preserves, dark chocolate covered mint chocolate, champagne truffle (yum), milk chocolate with caramel (v. sweet, I loved it). Plus he gave me some extras. He let me taste his black pepper piece and it was quite good. He gave me another one with cherry preserves because he had just made them. He puts everything in standard gift boxes. I will go back to try more flavors and possibly take pics.

I have bought chocolate as a gift here before. It was 16 months ago (valentines day I believe), so it was the old owner.
As I remember it, their gift baskets and special event chocolate is the specialty. They do a very nice job on wrapping each piece of chocolate individually, and personalizing the presentation. The chocolate was pretty good, but not the best I've tasted. The lady running the place was very nice.
I'll have to try it again with the new owner.

Since I am not stalking you, I have no idea where the coffee shop you study at is located. Could you give an address? Something more specific than "Hollywood"?
