Good coffee near Seaside Heights or Lavallette?

I'm going to be in Seaside Heights - right on the boardwalk, it looks like, for the first time next week. Our little (cheap!) motel seems pretty amenity-free. I need a good cup of coffee in the AM - it is crucial to my happiness and the happiness of those around me. Is there a coffee place near there? One that serves good bagels and muffins would be a big bonus. I already google-mapped the closest Starbuck's as a last resort, but I'm hoping to find something good and local. Any other recs for the area would be very welcome too! Thanks!

Tapas - The Java Joint isn't a bad recommendation however I doubt the OP wants to make the 15 minute or so drive from the Heights to downtown TR for coffee.

Thanks for this - although the coffee wasn't all that I had hoped for, the bagels were outstanding - my everything bagel with scallion cream cheese was a savory, pillow-y, firm yet soft, crisp-ish crusted delight. Elevated my mood enough so my dad and son could stand me!
