Restaurant Week Virgin

Well I just moved to New York and this is going to be my first experience with restaurant week. As a first timer I really want to have a good experience. Price is not a factor, neither is atmosphere. I am only looking for the quality of the food. I know the menus change every year so, maybe either veteran advice or someone who has actually been to this restaurant this year. Thanks again!!!

First off, you should take a look at the actual listing and pricing:

Secondly, there a ton of posts about Restaurant Week recently that you should take a look at them instead of us sounding like a broken record. Here's a few posts to get you started:

Most importantly, you better get started on making reservations now (for the most popular ones at least, for example, all the Danny Meyer restaurants, especially Gramercy Tavern and EMP) before it'll be booked for the date/time you want.

I called Gramercy Tavern and they suggested that I book online for RW, as their book fills up 5 minutes after they start answering the phones at 9am. Eek!

Really? I've tried booking it online at 9 AM (multiples trials throughout the week) and it was booked or has the message saying I should call there.

For the multiple times I've been to any Danny Meyer restaurants for RW, I ended up calling and have a slightly better luck getting a table. In regards to Gramercy Tavern, I got through the phones after redialing for 10 minutes. Whew!

Yeah, I'm not sure what is going on there. I'm guessing there's just a lot of people who want to go to GT for RW.

If it's like Restaurant Week last January, you can simply saunter in to Eleven Madison Park for lunch without a reservation... if you are willing to eat at one of the tables in the bar area. And I think if I had to choose one place, that might be it.
