Public vs. Degustation?? Please help me pick...

I thought I had settled on a special dinner with a dear friend at PUBLIC.

We're both equally in to food as well as atmosphere (decor, nice crowd, etc).

However, recently I've read one or two not-so-great reviews about PUBLIC.

Is DEGUSTATION a better choice??

Please share your thoughts and/or reviews on one or both places.

Degustation has excellent food. I'm not a big fan of the tasting menu, i like to pick and choose myself. the croquettas are amazing. Great wines to go with the food.
As far as nice crowd, there isnt really a crowd, its 16 people at a tapas bar. You will enjoy the food and the service, the atmosphere is kind of romantic , even though tight surroundings. Jack's Oyster bar around the corner is also very good. It serves tapas but more French style. Same owner as Degustation and Jewel Bako

Haven't been to Degustation, but the food at Public was bland. The only good thing about my meal there was the wine.

Looking for a crowd? Go to Public. Degustation is small, tiny even.

KT: Thanks! I did not know Degustation is tiny. My 3rd choice was Bar Room at The Modern. More a distant third...
