Near the Film Forum, but *current*

efdee Jun 26, 2008 03:48 PM

My search turned up posts that were at least four years old. Shouldn't there be an expiration date, for goodness sakes?

Anyway, I would appreciate current recommendations for a moderately priced ($30 pp) dinner for two near the Film Forum. We like all cuisines but prefer adult-friendly restaurants with good drinks. TIA

Rhong-Tiam on Laguardia. It's delicious, very reasonable and a 5-10 minute walk to the theater.

Agree w/Cornelia St. Cafe and Po. You could also do Lupa, 'ino, and Jane on that budget.

I would second 'ino on Bedford st. It's right around the corner from Film Forum. Good wine. Yummy panini.

Does that price include drinks? Cornelia Street Cafe, on Cornelia Street, is decent, though not great, You might be able to have a decent meal at Po there for that price as well if you choose carefully.

No, $30 pp is too low for dinner, drinks, etc. I'm not rigid about the cost of the meal but would prefer to keep it simple and find a casual place in the neighborhood with tasty food. TIA

I'm also a big fan of Pearl Oyster Bar on Cornelia Street - we usually just go at 6 pm when they open so there is no wait. Nice small selection of wines and beer - not sure that they have a full bar, though.
