mini pasta

I am a sucker for anything new, so I bought those new Barilla mini pastas - both penne and farfalle.

So what do I make with them? Mini-meatballs? Or do I go for even more whimsy and make one huge meatball and serve it with the mini pastas?

Or how about jumbo shrimp scampi over mini pasta...

You could stuff any vegetable really, but I'm thinking hollowed-out tomatoes (from a safe source!) with tuna or chicken pasta salad or just pasta with pesto. The little pasta would be great in soups too, but you might want to save that until fall.

All the threads about it being too hot to cook got me thinking mini pastas would be good in a pasta salad...even better than the regular size since there'd be a better noodle/veggie balance. I had a nice one at a deli in town with poppyseed dressing, baby spinach, red onion and if memory serves, some red bell pepper... the possibilities are endless though.
