I'm looking for a place to host a rehearsal dinner (about 50 people.) We're considering the following but I'd LOVE more suggestions. Ideally downtown and not too expensive...I haven't lived in Portland for awhile and would really appreciate opinions and suggestions!

Alexis
Elephant's Deli Garden Room
Old Town Pizza
MacTarnahan's Tap Room

fancier:
Saucebox
23 Hoyt

    Maggie,

50 guests goes a bit beyond the typical "private dining" scenario for most restaurants. You're really talking about a buy-out. Off the top of my head I can't think of any places that can accomodate 50 for a seated dinner while simultaneously serving their regular
patrons. With that said, if you do explore a buy-out, you can expand your list ten-fold, although it can be costly. A couple of places you might consider are the dry cleaners space next to Clyde Common, and simpatica; both are set-up for special events. Good luck! Kim
