Truckee / Squaw / North Lake Tahoe - Rehearsal Dinner

Planning on getting married in Squaw in August and now is the time I need to start thinking about where to have the rehearsal dinner. I have done some research on the boards and have seen some recs, but wanted to throw this post out to see if anyone wants to comment. The wedding is on a Monday so we are looking for a place on Sunday night.

Places I have seen mentioned are Moody's and Dragonfly in Truckee and Gar Woods on the lake. Any others?

Now, here's the thing... this does not have to a typical upscale rehearsal dinner. All restaurants will be considered as long as they can accommodate a party of about 20.

I would love to hear any recommendations you may have. Thanks in advance!

Edit: Looking at keeping entrees under $30, but much lower options will certainly be considered.

You know, we just ate at a fun mexican place called caliente's in kings beach just last weekend. food was good - not great - but good, and would work for a rehersal dinner. they have an upstairs patio that overlooks the lake. restaurant is large so i'm sure it could accomodate your group. it's been recently renovated (i think it used to be what was the naughty dog) and it is appararent that they put a lot of money into it - same owners as gar woods.

I would also suggest Big Water Grille. If you are using the wine cellar they may accommodate you with a special menu at whatever price point you wish. I would call. Caliente, in Kings Beach, has terrific, upscale Mexican food. They have rooftop seating. I'm not sure how many that would hold, but if you could have that to yourself, that might be a fun alternative.

RevrendAndy - Caliente sounds like a good casual option. Thanks!

The Big Water Grille in Incline Village has a wine cellar that accommodates 18 and probably can handle 20, maybe 22.

RevAndy, Miss Rev and myself had a great meal there of weird foods. If they can make weird food taste good, imagine what they can do with regular food.

Great suggestion, but it looks to be above the $$ threshold.

I know it's typical to have your rehearsal dinner at a nice(r) restaurant, but we are up for anything... We can have fun with this.

Let's break this into two categories - Under $15 and $15-30.

I would even like to hear of some pizza suggestions!

That said, we will certainly consider the more upscale places as well and appreciate the suggestions.

How about the Lone Eagle Grill at the Hyatt, Incline Village? We have only been to lunch. It's a bit expensive.
