  1. Bulldog NE? Whitey's? A lot of talk about both and their burgers on here.

    1. Yeah, in NE - Whitey's and NE Bulldog on Hennepin make a pretty good burger, not great though. Same with Mac's Industrial on Central.

      Not sure about Uptown.

Downtown probably has the best burgers between 112, Lurcat, LBV Lounge, Solera, Morton's, Ike's (under debate but not by me) and Vincent (under debate) but these places are all fancy and stuff, not sure if that is what you're into.

I like Annie's in Dinkytown as well. Not sure if you are touring the U, but if you are, this is a great spot.

I like Annie's for the shakes and their lovely patio. Thanks for the reminder--I haven't been there this season yet!

      2. Check out Big 10 Sports Bar in Dinkytown or Mayslacks Bar and Restaurant in NE Mpls. Both have great food and are fun places.

Not to be contrary, because I love Mayslacks roast beef sandwiches (and Jimmy's and Grumpy's etc), but it may not be the best place to bring a high school aged kid for a glimpse of Minneapolis.

I like Big 10, but mostly for the subs than for the burgers.

          2. The best burger I've had in those areas is the Bulldog NE. Catch them on a good day, and the burgers are outstanding. A little farther afield, Town Talk Diner on East Lake Street also has excellent burgers. Both meet your criteria of fun but nice.
