Guava Cake

Does anyone know where I can purchase a Guava Cake or any similar Hawaiian cake in the EastBay or San Francisco? San Jose is too far.
I need it for a birthday cake.

Vienna Bakery in Fremont. It bought Aki's a year or two ago and also inherited the very same guava cake recipe.

Thanks for that info.. I knew about Aki's ownership change, but didn't know another location was selling the same cake. Where is Vienna in Fremont?

Aki has such a great cake. I haven't had it in awhile, but I recommend going there.

They may have inherited the recipe but they do not make it the same. As someone who worked for a while just up the street from Aki's who has had it too many times to count, it not the same. I purchased it recently (March) and was disappointed.

I know this is a bumped thread, but I've had a couple of very bad experiences with Vienna in the past year - their red velvet (dry cake, may have been a buttercream frosting or at least no detectable cream cheese taste in the frosting) and a stale fruit danish ring. I actually think the danish ring may have been day old... Not good.

I was so disappointed in the last cake I purchased from Aki's that I have not returned. The cost was almost doubled and it was not the same cake. Maybe I will have to learn to bake (not likely) or it will be something I will have to remember as something gone and not forgotten.

Has guava cake on the menu. I can't really recommend it over Aki's.

What kind of a hound are you if a little 1 hour drive will turn you away from good Guava cake:)
