South Beach - no particular order
    Prime 112
    Joes Takeaway
    Sardinia
    Macalusos market
    Joe Allen
    Puerto Sagua
    BBQ Beach
    El Chalan
    Davids
    Maison d' Azur
The Standard (right outside of south beach) -- could be too hot though...

I had lunch at Quattro recently and really enjoyed it. It's pricey but the food is beautifully prepared and it's delicious. The atmosphere is lovely as well.

Forgot Baires and Liberty -- Baires is better but more expensive.

You said lunch in "Miami" area- so if you are referring to more than just South Beach, I would try

          River Oyster Bar
          Azul
Novecento (Brickell, also a Miami Beach location)
The restaurant at the Four Seasons (The place is underrated but the food is great)

I think Joe's take-away is closed for summer season. If you happen to be coming once stone crab season starts again, its a great suggestion and a nice way to get some of the good food without the lengthy wait and will be less expensive than dining in the main restaurant area. (The takeaway area has casual tables and chairs set out for diners to use; there are no waiters in that area)

Lunch at Michael's Genuine is great (pizzas, salads, sandwiches, and a couple entrees). Only open Mon-Fri for lunch though.

Coral Gables has lots of fine/good restaurants and it is a calm and relatively safe atmosphere.

If Coral Gables is only "relatively safe" for you, then you must be eating in a bunker otherwise.

You have no idea how dangerous brunch at the biltmore is -- scary :)
