Foo Foo Tei--Down The Tubes?
One of my informants mentioned that Foo Foo Tei, the ramen place on Atlantic in Monterey Park, got a makeover inside and out and the results aren't pretty, at least foodwise. Though the staff claimed no change in ownership, the menu has changed and the food was described as bad. Wondering if any others have been to the Monterey Park location recently, and also wondering about the original City of Industry location.
I was last there possibly two months ago but stopped when I realized they had severely reduced its menu. Instead of serving dozens of different kinds of ramen, they only offer the 10 or so "most popular," none of which I liked so much. I can't recall whether they took off all the other side dishes or not. In their defense, they offered to make me a mabo-ramen when I found out about the menu reduction but I don't expect that to happen again.
I don't know why the Monterey Park location insists they're still part of the City of Industry location. At the City of Industry location, there's a sign in Japanese stating that they're not affiliated. There's also rumors of litigation. Either way, not affiliated..at least not any longer.
