where can a group of foodies visit for lunch after attending a wedding celebration at SF City hall? The ideal restaurant should be close proximity, walking at most 2-3 blocks.
Any cuisine is welcome, average check around $15.00

The wedding event is in two days, needs recs soon. thanks.

In that price range, how about the cafe inside the Asian museum? The food is actually quite nice (oh, but you'd have to pay the museum entrance unless you're a member....)

Otherwise I think you are limited to Max's Opera Deli.

You don't need to pay admission to eat at the cafe. You tell them on the way in and they give you a special sticker that cannot be used to enter the exhibit area. I believe you can also visit the gift shop without paying admission.

Very cool to know! Then I would heartily suggest the cafe -- if the weather is fine, they open the doors to the outdoor seating which would be perfect post-wedding!

In addition to Cafe Asia at the Asian Art Museum itself, the museum's website thoughtfully provides a link to this map of other dining spots in the vicinity.

Fantastic and a keeper as an answer to the frequently asked question "where can I eat near the Civic Center?"

The cafe at the Asian Art Museum is a great suggestion.

Also, Delessio is not very far away and would fit the bill. (Market and Gough, next to Flax).

A slightly longer walk would take you to Hayes Valley, with Arlequin (and its lovely garden) and Boulange de Hayes. In fact, I've never scoped this out but the wine store next to and associated with Arlequin advertises the garden as well, implying that one might be able to get a glass of wine--or champagne--with lunch. Does anyone know whether that is true?

Yes, you can get wine from the store next door (Amphora) to have with your meal at Arlequin. Arlequin serves a few wines as well. Amphora and Arlequin are owned by the same people (who also own Absinthe), I believe.

Arlequin and their nice back garden are my vote. A very quick walk from City Hall (on part of my daily BART trek.) All three "a" places (Arlequin, Absinthe, and Amphora) are owned by the same people. The walk from City Hall to Arlequin is past the opera house and jardinere, an overall pleasant walk. The walk to Delisso is a nasty piece of Market.
