53242 Thu Feb 20 02:04:54 -0800 2003 5 2 Los Angeles Area 0 272996 Reading the Oki Dog thread made me wax nostalgic for this place....lousy food, grumpy proprietors, AWESOME jukebox (it had a 45 of Syd Vicious singing "My Way" as well X, Social Distortion and the Clash) Me and my pals would have drinks at Yee Me Low's (closed)....sing a couple of tunes at the old Oiwake (torn down and relocated)....and have a plate of ham, eggs and rice before heading home. I was there once with some friends from out of town. One of them started asking questions about one of the dishes, and the guy just ripped the menu out of his hand, walked away, and brought some random food. The hotdog & rice (wiener bang?) was early classic asian fusion cuisine.. Aside from the jukebox, every inch of the walls and ceiling was covered in classic punk flyers.
