What can anyone recommend for visitors staying in the West End of Vancouver? Not into asian cuisine. Reasonable prices please. Thanks in advance.

It's been a while since I went and I hear that they had a change in chefs since then - but I really like Delilah's. They are famous for their Martinis. Their mains are $26...or you can opt for a four course prix fixe for $45.

Lolita's has decent modern Mexican and the pricing is also quite reasonable ($20-30 mains).

For breakfast, lunch or early dinner on Friday or Saturday, you might try LA BRETAGNE CREPERIE 795 Jervis St., West End, 604-688-5989 (call for closing hours but open Mon to Sun at 9 am They have a selection of savoury and sweet crepes with interesting fillings and the room is cheery.

How about Bin 941 for some small plates? If you go, though, know that this room (like the rightly recommended Lolita's above) is very petite and neither take resos.

Or maybe Parkside, although this may be a bit richer than you'd planned (never sure what reasonable is to visitors) but they do have good prix fixe deals -- something like $40 for the three and $50 for the four course IIRC.

I second Parkside if it's in your price range.

I like Tapastree over Bin 941 for small plates in the west end.

Cancuk, I mentioned Bin 941 because it seems to get a lot of love here but please tell us more about Tapastree -- what are your dishes of choice?

Went to LA BRETAGNE CREPERIE and it was great! Service was warm and friendly as well. Also had a great meal at A Kettle of Fish!
