Pls help, 8 guys, 1 vegetarian
Hello everyone, I've been lurking on this board for a while now and really enjoy everyone's reviews and posts! One of my friends is getting married and we are all going out to dinner in the city at the end of July. Only issue is that my friend is vegetarian and the other 7 of us are not! Any ideas on where a good place has good vegetarian food in addition to great meat dishes?
Some info: looking for something not so stuffy, not too expensive (maybe 40 to 50 a person). we are also going to be in the LES after dinner, if that helps with location. I was thinking Italian but can do anything else if you guys think of anything good.
Thank you!!!

a recent thread on veg options, altho many suggestions are on the expensive side:

I like Apizz (and so does my sister) on the LES, but it might be outside your budget. I'd also consider Freeman's, if not for the artichoke dip alone. The food isn't great, but it's good enough, and I think it has a fun atmosphere.

Apizz doesn't really accommodate vegetarians (when I called to ask this winter, they laughed at me and hung up...yeah, nice service guys), though I believe they sometimes have something pizza-like that's probably vegetarian on the menu.
little giant doesn't have veg stuff on their menu, but will happily do something special, five points is also good to vegetarians while being meat-centric.
if you want to go more veg-centric with just a couple meat options, you could try broadway east, the service is still weird (opened recently), but we enjoyed the food. kampuchea's a little more casual, but also has good veg options.

Otto's a good one. Awesome pizzas and pastas, not too expensive, and a fun atmosphere for a big group. Whenever I go, it ends up being about 30 a person.

3rd otto. Great bang for your buck and I recently went their with a vegan friend and she found quite a few options.

We once had a large group dinner at Inoteca and got the $34/39 family menu. There was a lot of food, including many vegetarian options, very lively and wine prices are fair, so that could be an option.
