tried something new at xian fine eats

i was there today and a woman was taking pictures of lamb soup for an issue of time out NY in 2 weeks. and mr noodle sugg. i try something different and it was what was pictured below. it was cold, noodles, flour cakes ( as mr noodle called it) a fishy sweet sauce with cilantro. it was one of the best things ive ever had.

      i tried the liang pi last time i was there, see my report:

      thought it was good, but nothing that i thought was chinese, but not from that region, so it could be just personal taste

        I think it's the most popular dish among the diners there. Perhaps because he's always pushing it. It's good, but I'm a sucker for the biang biang mian.

          im pretty sure its the most popular dish there b/c every person there was eating it and every person getting food to go was getting it when i was there

            Yeah. When I was there, the owner was trying to get me to order it. I assume it's their "signature" dish. I couldn't because I was saving room for Chengdu Heaven.

              honestly it was so cool and refreshing, for a hot summer day it sure hit the spot. tried it again today :)

                their lamb burger is really the star there though in my mind, that is a great dish

      2. Remind us when the article comes out. I don't read TONY regularly because I'm usually far away from NY (maybe back in August, I'm hoping).
