Broadway East, LES (review)

I was so thrilled with my meal there last week that I wanted to tell fellow foodies. Surprisingly, there are only a few old reviews on Chowhound, so maybe people haven't yet discovered this special place. Every dish was so delectable that we actually felt a certain vague sadness as we finished each of them. I can't remember when I last felt this way.
But anyway, although this is a vegetarian restaurant we never had the feeling that we were sacrificing taste for healthfulness ( we often feel this at other vegetarian/vegan places). One could tell that that the chef took painstaking care to ensure exquisite deliciousness. The place is beautiful and very conducive to easy conversation. Although it was totally packed when we went, there was no problem at all talking without raising our voices.

For details on what we ate, just ask.

I haven't been back since I contributed a review to this thread:

My experience was good, albeit not as positive as yours. I believe they just replaced the chef, so I'm curious: did you eat at Broadway East twice, before and after the change? Has it improved? I'm a sucker for vegetarian fine dining, but Broadway East didn't quite measure up.

Yes, I've been there 3 times. I don't know anything about a chef change but I ate there again just last weekend. I was very pleased the other times, but by far the best was definately last week. We had vegetarian appetizers but seafood entrees, Atlantic Bay scallops, and salmon. They had a little A/C problem while we were there, so it was a little warm. but then it got fixed eventually. The desserts were so good. I was also so grateful that it's easy to have a conversation there. I hate noisy restaurants (i.e. Blue Water Grill) BTW, have you seen the review on Timeout? Broadway East got a really great one from them.
