Hey Chowhounds,
I heard about the Top Chef Tour. These are the tour cities and dates:
Boston, MA - July 1
Philadelphia, PA - July 4
Pittsburgh, PA - July 9
Columbus, OH - July 12
St. Louis, MO - July 16
Denver, CO - July 19
Phoenix, AZ - July 26
San Diego, CA - July 30
San Francisco, CA - August 2, 3
Los Angeles, CA - August 8
Des Moines, IA - August 16
Detroit, MI - August 23
Madison, WI - August 27
Chicago, IL - September 3, 4
Raleigh, NC - September 13
Tampa, FL - September 20
Orlando, FL - September 24
Atlanta, GA - September 27
New York, NY - TBD

I live in Colorado and possibly would be able to attend in Denver, however; I cannot seem to find out where in Denver they will be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. See this link for more info - doesn't look like the Bravo website has any additional information or clickable links:

    1. Just a guess on my part... but clicking on boston and pitt, both of those are at Whole Paycheck Market while the Phili location is at the Taste of Philadelphia (Penn's Landing).

For Denver, my guess is that Whole foods will host the Chefs, unless there's a food festival in Denver that weekend.

This whole tour thing just seems cobbled together and disorganized... just based upon the website.

      1. EIther they are counting on minimal interest because of their lack of publicity, or they have woefully underestimated crowds.

Here is some info that doesn't appear on the Bravo site...

          http://leisureblogs.chicagotribune.co...

Sounds like everything is being done in their own truck with seating for 38 people inside watching live and 300 outside watching via CCTV.

"With one show reserved for local cable channel affiliates."
            Huh?
It's not as if Bravo comes into homes any way other than cable or satellite.
No local ads to be sold...(I know some local stations give big advertisers major trips and other perks)....but what the heck is a local Bravo affiliate?

            1. re: shallots

Bu tthey are owned by NBC.

        2. Did they mention who was going on this tour?

          1. re: Phaedrus

Can I just express my disappointment with the fact that they are not coming to Minneapolis, please? I mean, we aren't exactly in the middle of culinary nowhere over here, but it feels like that, now. I mean, really...Des Moines, but not Minneapolis? Argh.

            1. re: Phaedrus

Can't find a list of names, but based on the photos and who I recognize ... Looks like SC4: Richard, Antonia, Stephanie, Andrew, Dale SC3: CJ, Casey, Hung SC2: Sam, Marcel SC1: Dave, Tiffani, Miguel

Feel free to correct me anyone, cause again, just going by a rough photo identification and the figures are little, especially the folks in the back!

              1. re: HarryK

FYI Dates and signup for Philly and Denver are up on the bravo site now.

                1. re: mliew

Looks like Dale and Nikki from TC4 are at the WF in Cambridge, MA for the Boston show. But they were "sold out" before any link was actually available to click!

                  1. re: mliew

                    Thanks, mliew!

              2. 19 stops and they can't make it to Houston, the 4th largest city in the US, with the most diverse dining (outside of NYC) crossroads of Central American, Vietnamese and "Texan" cuisines....

                Oh well...

                1. This is just getting soooo ridiculous.

I filled out the form for the tickets on the Bravo website, hit submit, got back empty space (and no email).

Does anyone know what should actually happen? If tickets are to be mailed, emailed and printed or picked up?

I mean heaven knows to either actually tell you anything at all on their site or to actually have a place to write them where they would write back to you is obviously too complex a thing to ask.

the same thing happened to me, you will eventually get an email confirmation for the tickets... i would suggest printing that email and bring it with you when you go because Ive only got one email, and its not tickets or anything just email saying it was requested.

                    1. re: 3star

Yeah, about 14 hours later I got an email that said here is the date, it did not take in the hour/show slot I put in; and it gave a confirmation number. And no info on what to do with it or where to present it.

Like you said, I guess I'll print it out and take it with me on the day, 3star. Weird huh? Do appreciate the help there, 3star!

                  2. Did anyone from the Boston area go to the TC thing yesterday? Boston.com is saying "Dale Talde and Nikki Cascone, a couple of the foodies from season four of Bravo's "Top Chef," did a cooking demo for fans outside the Whole Foods in Cambridge yesterday. The pair of epicureans pulled up in an 18-wheeler outfitted with a state-of-the-art kitchen as part of a promotional tour for the reality show."

Outside? Meaning anyone who wanted could have gone?

                      >>> Outside? Meaning anyone who wanted could have gone?

That's what baffles me about the whole tickets thing.

                      1. re: LindaWhit

I emailed for tickets in Philadelphia, I got a confirmation number, and in time slot, it says "unconfirmed"

I saw a video blurb from an NBC affliate instructing anyone who's interested to go the website to sign up to participate in demos, food tastings, book signings, etc...no such thing exists on the website she gave...(the bravotv website)

For myself, personally, this event is being held at Penns Landing, during the taste, during fireworks displays, and a concert, etc, etc, etc. And there is a blurb somewhere on the site that says "walk-ins accepted for sold out shows" and every time slot is still available for Philly..

.I read that to say, veritable madhouse, and while I'd LOVE to meet Hung, this whole event just sounds so unorganized and ridiculous.

                        1. re: sommrluv

Yeah, it sounds insane. On top of which I think it's supposed to be 96 degrees (before adding in the humidity index) and 60% chance of thunderstorms. And then my health this week isn't the best. I really doubt I'm going to end up going at this rate. And I so wanted to be able to cover something in real time (instead of web) and get some photos and see the demos and all. Don't think so this time though. :(

                      2. does anyone know which top chefs will be in denver on july 19th?

                        1. Anyone know where in Chicago they will be and if they are sold out already?!

                          1. re: Chew on That

I read a blog about the St. Louis stop (July 16th) where a person had checked at 4pm on June 26th and found the Bravo link for that show inactive. When she checked again at 8am on June 27th, the link was active but all the shows had sold out. Currently, the furthest out date with an active date is 20 days away (San Francisco on 8/3) so it looks like they are making the links active 20 days before the show date. If my hypothesis is correct, the LA show link should become active sometime on July 21st. In that case, I would expect the link for the first Chicago show to become active on August 14th. There are only 38 seats available in the semi per show, so I guess you have to check the Bravo website constantly so you can get tickets once they activate the link.

                            1. re: LabRat

Well I just got back from vacation and I guess I missed the signup for San Diego because now tickets for all the shows are gone :-(. It does say that standby tickets may be available on the day of the show though.

Has anyone gone to one of these events so far? Sounds like its actually outdoors in which case anyone could just walk up and watch? Did you guys that signed up for tickets via the website ever end up getting them?

                              1. re: mliew

I'm wondering the same thing. We're planning on going to the date in PHX next weekend but the tickets are only available stand-by. Oddly enough, we were at Casey's restaurant and missed her a couple weekends ago, and now she's coming here apparently.
