How to creatively use Boca Burgers

Hello all. I have a package of Boca Burgers in my freezer, but I am getting kind of sick of the standard sandwich. Got any ideas? Maybe a salad of some sort. But, any ideas would be much appreciated.

  1. Somewhere this weekend I saw ssomething for Boca Pizzas. I thought maybe it was in O, but can't find it now.

I'm guessing you would top them with a bit of sauce and cheese and whatever else you want them bake them?

If I can find what I was reading this in I'll post it.

Taco salad? Crumble the burger and saute in a bit of oil and garlic, season with chile powder and cumin. Serve over lettuce, corn, black beans, tomatoes, avocado, cheese and tortilla chips....

I make chile, tacos, spaghetti bolognese, omelettes etc. with crumbled boca burgers.

      Good luck.

    2. Sloppy Joes
Taco filling - would be great in a taco salad
Lasagna filling - though that's a little heavy for summer
Potato hash as a side for eggs

So, basically anything you'd do with hamburger is how I use veggie burgers when I don't want a burger. I add olive oil and onions (and any other flavorings you want to add), when turning them into crumbles in the frying pan to better approximate the texture and mouth feel.

      1. Back in my vegetarian days my favourite use for boca burger "product" was to sauteĀ“ onions until almost caramelized but not quite then crumble the burger into the onions and heat through. Then I would place the mixture into a pita and grate some shredded cheese atop the whole mess. Throw on some A-1 sauce and stick this in the toaster oven for a second to melt the cheese and eat. Keep in mind these were my college days so it might not be quite up to your standards but it was indeed good.

Other uses have already been mentioned - sloppy joes, taco salad, pizza topping. I also use to make a sort of hamburger helper style dish with it with macaroni.

        1. Veggie Shepherd's Pie - sub in crumbled Boca Burgers where you'd usually use groundbeef or veggie ground round.

          1. I've tossed surplus uncooked Boca burgers into the food processor, pulsed a few times and used the "ground meat" to form new, flavored patties (roasted garlic and sundried tomatoes are favorite fillings, or toss some cheese in the middle of the patty)
